***NEW INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY***
The BBPI and the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University are proud to partner with the Bureau of Land Management to host a paid internship, primarily preparing and processing fossils collected by the BBPI on public lands. Most are dinosaur fossils, but may also include fossilized remains of microvertebrates, invertebrates, plants, and rock specimens. The intern will be trained by Academy paleontologists in modern vertebrate fossil preparation techniques, and modern curation procedures. Some time may be spent interacting with the public to educate them about fossils and museums. A background in geology or paleontology is helpful, but not required as training will be provided. Academy of Natural sciences of Drexel University
The Academy of Natural Sciences hosts an education internship in its Dinosaur Hall. There also may be opportunities in the Dinosaur Hall Fossil Prep Lab, where interns may have the opportunity to prepare fossil specimens collected during BBPI field expeditions.
Wyoming Dinosaur Center
Our friends at the Wyoming Dinosaur Center offer amazing internship opportunities that include field work, fossil preparation, education, and research. The position includes a stipend and housing facilities. Please see the linked pdf for details. Applications are often due in February.
The Mammoth Site
The Mammoth Site of Hot Springs, South Dakota is offering up to 9 paid summer internships in 2017. Interns will be responsible for public interpretation and education, fossil conservation, and research assistance.
Ashfall Fossil Beds
Ashfall Fossil Beds State Historical Park is offering several paid summer internships for field studies in vertebrate paleontology: 3 internships for May 23 to August 3, and 2 offered for July 31 to September 15. Email rick.ottos@UNL.edu or Sandy.Mosel@UNL.edu for details and application form.
Yale Peabody Museum of Natural HIstory
The Yale Peabody Museum of Natural History hosts an internship focused on Paleontological Experience and Collections Experience. This is a paid summer field opportunity in the Triassic rocks of Arizona's Petrified Forest National Park.
Paleontological Research Institute
